Product Review: A beautifully made bag - needs a zip closure
I ordered this bag from a well-known department store chain in the black and tan colour-way (this colour is offered on Amazon for several styles of high-end Osprey bag though, oddly, not this one) during the sales. The bag is very well made with neat, strong stitching and beautifully soft leather that nonetheless holds its shape extremely well. The overall styling is slightly reminiscent of saddlery, putting me a little in mind of Dior's gaucho bags.
However, the bag is very small indeed. It's only about eleven inches wide, less than seven inches high, and two and a half inches deep - with no room for expansion. I was somewhat disappointed to find that the bag has no zip fastening. The only closure you get is the flap over top and, since this leaves both sides of the bag exposed, you have to be prepared for others to be able to see the contents of your bag.
